Latest News: On Saturday night, the action shifted to I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri for another $5,000 to win event. Forty Super Late Models entered the event and via passing points, Turner fell just short of qualifying for the main event in heat race action. He would go on to finish second in his b-main to qualify for the main event, where he would finish in the 19th position in the final rundown. August 21st, 2010 - Rushin Motorsports with Eric Turner behind the wheel entered the 18th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 over the weekend at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. Seventy-five Super Late Models entered the event, and in time trials, Turner would find himself behind the eight ball as he battled the setup on his entry. As a result, he started 8th in his heat, and on a fast race track, where passing was difficult, he failed to advance any. As a result, he started at the back of a b-main event, and would fail to advance to a transfer spot, bringing his event to an early end. August 14th, 2010 - Eric entered a Weekly Racing Series Event at his home track, Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri), on Saturday night. Eric's luck would take a turn for the worse as he would lose his powerplant bringing his night to an early end. August 13th, 2010 - The team traveled to Outlaw Motor Speedway (Muskogee, OK) on Friday night for a $3,000 to win, MARS event. Eric would start 6th in the feature and race his way into the third spot during the first few laps before moving up to the second spot a few laps later. He would chase Terry Phillips for the rest of the feature before finishing in the second spot. August 7th, 2010 - Eric was back in action with the MARS Super Late Model tour over the weekend in Illinois and Missouri. Turner opened the weekend by invading Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) on Friday night. Thirty-four Super Late Models entered the $3,000 to win event, which was run topless. Eric started his night by running second in his heat race to lock him into the feature event. Turner would battle the setup during the feature before closing the evening with a 12th place finish. On Saturday night, the team was in action at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri. Thirty Super Late Models would take a shot at the $3,000 prize, and once again Eric would qualify for the feature via heat race action. In the feature he would register a 10th place finish. July 31st, 2010 - The team set out to enter two COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model events over the weekend, although things would get off to a sad start on Friday at Malden Speedway (Malden, MO). During a Super Late Model b-main, a track worker was fatally injured in a freak accident. As a result, the decision was made to cancel the rest of the show. On Saturdaynight, the team made the trek to Northeast Arkansas Speedway in Harrisburg, Arkansas for a $2,000 to win event. Heat race action found Eric falling just short of locking into the 40 lap feature, and as a result, he had to run a b-main event, which he won. Via his b-main win, Turner started 15th in the feature and advanced two spots to a 13th place finish. July 24th, 2010 - Eric entered a pair of events over the weekend with the NCRA Late Model Series as he debuted his brand new #99T Larry Shaw Race Car. On Friday night Turner was in action tonight at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Nebraska as twenty-seven Super Late Models entered the event . Via a second place finish in heat race action, Eric locked into the 10th starting position in the feature. He would pick off a few spots early in the feature, and would go on to record a fifth place finish behind event winner, Kyle Berck, Bo Egge, Al Purkey, and Terry Phillips. Saturday found the team in action at Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas for another NCRA Super Late Model event. Twenty-one entries were on hand for the event, and for the second straight night, Eric earned the 10th starting spot for the main event as a result of a second place heat race finish. In the feature he would once again work his way through the pack to a fifth place finish behind winner, Kelly Boen, Al Purkey, Alan Vaughn, and J.D. Hubert. July 17th, 2010 - The team entered the 4th Annual CMH Diamond Nationals on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. It would prove to be another frustrating night for the team, as Eric got behind the eight ball early in the night after struggling in time trials. In heat race action he would only advance a few spots and after starting deep in the field in his b-main event, he would fail to reach a transfer spot to the feature event. July 4th, 2010 - Eric and Rushin Motorsports entered three events over the holiday weekend as the festivities got underway on Thursday night at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa in a MARS sanctioned event. In heat race action, Turner's night would take a turn for the worst as he got into the turn one wall, and his mount sustained heavy damage. He would get the car repaired in time to take a provisional to start the main event in the 21st position. He would go on to advance to a 14th place finish. On Friday, the action shifted to I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska for an event sanctioned by the MARS DIRTcar Series, the O'Reilly NCRA, Lucas Oil MLRA and the SLMR tours. After finishing second in his heat race, Eric locked into the feature event. However, he would experience mechanical woes in the main event, which relegated him to a 24th place finish in the 30 car grid. Saturday found the team at Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa in another event that was sanctioned by MARS, NCRA, and MLRA. It would prove to be another frustrating night for the team as Eric has to once again utilize a provisional to start the main event. He would only be able to manage a 19th place finish in the feature. June 26th, 2010 - Saturday night found the team in action at Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri for another MARS/MLRA Challenge event. In heat race action, Turner would struggle to a sixth place finish, which left him starting deep in a b-main event. He would advance to a 3rd place finish, but with only the top two cars transferring to the feature, he was forced to use a MARS tour provisional to start the main event. In the feature he would charge from the back of the pack to a seventh place finish at the checkered flag. June 25th, 2010 - The team was in action tonight at State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri for a $3,000 to win MARS/MLRA Challenge Series event. After winning his heat race, Eric locked into the main event. After starting on the second row he would charge to the lead on the 10th circuit, and would hold the spot until a lap 23 restart when Terry Phillips raced past him for the lead. The duo would swap the lead several times over the remainder of the event on the historic, 1/2 mile before Turner recorded a solid 2nd place finish. June 24th, 2010 - After a week away from the track, Eric traveled to 24 Raceway in Moberly, Missouri on Friday night for a Lucas Oil MLRA Super Late Model Series event. Twenty-six entries were on hand for the event, and after finishing third in his heat race, he locked into the feature event. However, Turner discovered mechanical woes on his mount shortly before the feature and scratched from the event. June 13th, 2010 - Eric was back in action over the weekend in two events in the state of Missouri. On Friday he took part in the $2,000 to win, 30 lap event at Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri that was sanctioned by the COMP Cams MSRA. With thirty-three Super Late Models on hand Eric fell just short of accumulating enough passing points in heat race action to lock into the feature. As a result, he was forced to run one of the b-main events, which he won to earn the 16th starting spot on the main event grid. He would go on to advance two spots to a 14th place finish.
June 6th, 2010 - Eric entered a pair of NCRA/MARS Challenge events over the weekend in Kansas. On Friday and Saturday he competed at The Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kansas in a $10,000 to win event. He earned the pole for the 50 lap event and took the lead at the outest, leading the first lap before Jeremy Payne overtook him for the lead on the second lap. Eric would fall back one more spot to 3rd lap lap ten as Jack Sullivan slipped by. A lap 21 caution bunched the field, and Eric was able to take advantage of the double file restart to drive past Sullivan and Payne to retake the lead. He would maintain the top spot until lap 35, when Sullivan slipped by him for the top spot. Bad luck would strike Sullivan on on lap 44 as his powerplant expired, and Turner reinherited the lead. Over the next few laps Turner and Jon Anderson held a spirited battle for the win, and with three laps to go Anderson used a strong move on the highside to take over the lead, and he went on to lead the last three laps to take the win. On Sunday, the action shifted to the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas for another MARS/NCRA Challenge event. After finishing second in his heat race, he would race his way to a fourth place finish behind race winner, Kelly Boen, Terry Phillips, and Kyle Berck. May 31st, 2010 - Eric and the team entered a pair of events over the Memorial Day weekend. After participating in an Open Practice Session on Thursday night, Eric entered the opening night of the 18th Annual DART Show Me 100 on Friday night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Seventy-three of the nation's top Super Late Model drivers entered the event. In heat race action, Eric ran fifth for much of the race on a surface where passing was extremely difficult. As a result of his finish he started fifth in a b-main on Saturday night with the top two cars transferring to the 100 lap feature. Eric would race his way up to the third position early in the b-main event and would challenge Dennis Erb Jr. for much of the race for the final transfer spot, but would ultimately finish one spot short of the transfer in third, which brought his weekend to an early end. On Sunday night Eric, who is the current MARS point's leader, entered the 10th Annual Tony Roper Memorial at Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri. The night got off to a slow start for Turner as he started 12th in the main event, but he didn't let that slow him down as he charged through the field to a solid second place finish behind event winner, Terry Phillips. May 22nd, 2010 - Eric entered the MLRA Late Model Series event at State Fair Motor Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri on Friday night. However, his night would come to an extremely early end after he broke in his heat race, forcing him to scratch from the program. May 16th, 2010 - In what has become a common occurrence this season, Eric lost all three of his scheduled, weekend events to Mother Nature. As a result, he made a mad dash on Saturday to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama to try and race his way in from the back of a b-main to the starting grid for the 1st Annual Red Farmer Classic. Unfortunately, he would come up one spot short of a transfer to the main event. May 9th, 2010 - Sunday night's finale for the Heartland Showdown was nixed by Mother Nature at Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri. May 8th, 2010 - Saturday night found team in action at Brills Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma on a night where things would go great for Eric and the team. After winning his heat race, Eric started third in the feature. He battled in the top five early in the event before overtaking race leader, Jack Sullivan, on the tenth circuit, and he never looked back en route to the feature win, which was his fourth of the 2010 season! May 7th, 2010 - The team was in action on Friday night at Creek County Speedway in Tulsa, Oklahoma for Round #2 of the Heartland Showdown. Twenty-nine cars entered the event, and Eric struggled in his heat race to a 5th place finish, which forced him to the b-main event, which he won. After winning the b-main event, Eric started in the seventeenth starting spot on the feature grid and went on to make a run through the field to a solid 4th place finish. May 6th, 2010 - Eric opened the four race, Heartland Showdown on Thursday night at 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas. The event was sanctioned by the MARS & NCRA Late Model tours and 35 cars signed in for battle in the $3,000 to win event. After winning his heat race, Turner started third in the feature. Early in the event he would move up to the second spot as he began to battle Terry Phillips for the lead. Turner would challenge Phillips for the duration of the feature before recording a solid, second place finish. May 2nd, 2010 - Eric made the long trek to Iowa over the weekend to enter the Banner Valley Hauling May Two Track Classic. After receiving heavy rain during the day, Friday night's event at Farley Speedway was postponed to Sunday night by Mother Nature. On Saturday night, Eric entered the $10,000 to win event at West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, Iowa. Thirty-four cars entered the event, and Eric would race his way into the 50 lap main event. However, he would ultimately retire early in the event, with an ill-handling car, to a 23rd place finish. On Sunday night, the team returned to Farley Speedway for the $10,000 to win event, but rain once again moved into the facility before hot laps forcing the cancellation of the event. April 17th, 2010 - The team returned to action in a Weekly Racing Series Event on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri behind the wheel of his #99 GRT By Phillips Open Wheel Modified. Twenty-five entries were on hand for the event, and after finishing second in his heat race, he started 5th in the feature event and rocketed his way to a second place finish behind event winner, Jesse Stovall. April 10th, 2010 - Eric entered the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model Series event on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland. Sixty Super Late Models entered the $3,000 to win event. Turner started the night by running second in his heat race to lock into the 12th starting spot for the feature event. During the course of the event he would battle his way to a 6th place finish. April 3rd, 2010 - Eric returned to action in his #99 Super Late Model over the weekend at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska with the MLRA Super Late Model tour. It was a tough night for Turner as he battled the setup the entire night. After finishing 6th in his heat race, he was relegated to a b-main event, where he charged to a second place finish to earn a transfer to the feature. March 27th, 2010 - After having a wild wreck on Friday night, the team thrashed all day on Saturday to get ready for the finale of the Silver Cup. Amazingly they were able to get the Duane Cleveland owned, Open Wheel Modified ready for action. It would pay big dividends as Eric won the fourth heat race to earn the fourth starting position for the feature event over the field off 55 entries. Turner would race his way to the lead early in the event and never looked back en route to his first Open Wheel Modified win of the 2010 season! March 26th, 2010 - Eric entered the first night of the Silver Cup for Open Wheel Modifieds at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California on Friday night. The night got off to a good start as Turner won his heat race by over half a track to earn the pole position for the feature event. Eric led the first ten laps of the feature before slipping to second on a restart. He would chase the leader for the next five laps before attempting to pass him in lapped traffic, which is when disaster struck. As Turner headed to the cushion, one of the lapped cars moved up the track and sent Eric flipping off the track, bringing his night to a disappointing, early end. March 19th, 2010 - Welcome to the launch of the Official Internet Home of Eric Turner, here at www.EricTurnerRacing.com . Eric traveled to Mid America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Kansas for the Bud Purkey Memorial, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model Series. However, early Friday morning the event was postponed to March 26th-27th due to a poor forecast.
